Never heard of him....

I am seeing dr. Macik next week to discuss the removal of my band and getting sleeved. I will have to wait at least 6 weeks between surgeries, so hoping for early July removal and mid August sleeve....was going to consult with Emory j.c., but they won't make me an appt until they receive my operative notes from the lapband done at Emory midtown....

ratrita, sorry for a late response, but Dr. Richard did my sleeve. I LOVE HIM and absolutely LOVE the program. It has been really nice to be able to use the clothing closet and not have to spend a ton of money as I drop sizes. They are all very supportive in his office, too. I missed support group this month, but should be there in July...hope you are recovering nicely!

Hope everyone is doing great!

I feel the exact same way! I am on day 3 of my 10 day preop... its been hard but my driving force is that I know I will be better off. Good luck to you!

I'm in Canton, GA, and I'm having my surgery July 18th with Dr. Johnson at Atlanta Bariatrics (Emory Johns Creek). I think the whole program is great. I'm new to this site and want to read stories about the first day or two after surgery. Where do I go? Also, almost everyone seems to stay in the hospital for a day or two, and I'm supposed to go home the same day. Did anyone else go home the same day?

Hi folks. I was sleeved up in PA a year ago and moved to ATL for work recently. I live in Roswell and I'm looking for a good support group. What program has the best follow up care? I'm thinking I'd like to do follow up with a nutritionist every few months, and get/provide support in a group environment.

Thanks!

Jay

Hello Atlanta. I live in Marrietta and had my 1st consult with Dr. Hart. Anyone had experience with him? Extremely quiet.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
