I started at 274 lbs and there are people on this board that started heavier than you. It will all work out as long as you stick with your program. Don't worry about the starting weight. You made a choice to be healthy. Focus on the steps that will get you there! ;)

You must be reading the wrong threads! There are plenty here that are your starting weight and more. And have lost the weight quite nicely.

Good luck tomorrow! :)

My starting weight was 379. There were many people here who were in your weight rane. There are also many people with higher weights such as myself who have had great sucess.

Good luck on your surgery! :)

I'm 290 and one of my Dr's smaller patients. He feels I'm going to respond very well to the surgery but I guess only time will tell. I've been working out 3X/week with a personal trainer which he says will help. I'm 2.5 weeks from my sleeve date. Good luck to you!!!

I started at 407, surgery weight 388 on Jan 14th, and now, exactly 4 months later, my weight this AM was 296. Don't worry, as long as you follow the program, you will lose weight. VSG is a great tool for making weight loss manageable!

I was 297 on surgery day and was 269 this morning. I've been in a stall for the past two weeks. Still, 28 pounds in 7 and a half weeks ain't bad!! I'll take it :) You are going to do great!

I haven't had surgery yet, but I started this process in January at 311 & I'm now 297. Hoping to lose a little more before surgery, which will likely be in late June/early July.

I started at 320 and I've lost 60 in a little over 2 months. My surgeon is very pleased.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
