I am 6 days post op and I have no Idea what any of the different feelings I have been having with my stomach mean. I don't know what means hunger, what means gas, what means I'm full, etc...

The one that concerns me the most is when I drink straight Water. I get a sharp pain that lasts for approx 2-4 seconds and then is gone. Doesn't seem to happen with other liquids.

I tried to look this up on the forum but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Anyone have any insight? Thanks!

It is normal what you are feeling. It gets better and easier each day & with time. It is crucial that you get in your Protein and Water. Take it from me - I don't & I stay dehydrated...iv fluids in the dr's office when I have my appointments.

In time, you will be able to tell the head hunger from real hunger. When you progress to more foods & things, you will know what you can handle & what you can't...it is kinda trial & error. Just follow your dr and nut guidelines.

Best of luck to you! Take care!

Somebody posted a really good post and explained what there doctor explained to them. Basically, the density of Water is greater when it's on its own. However, that density is lessened when it's mixed with a substance like crystal lite, or other add ins. Something like that...I'll look for that thread and let you know so you can read it.

Adding crystal light or mio breaks the surface tension of the Water and it makes it easier on your tummy. I don't exactly get why that is, but there is an actual scientific explanation for it.

I still have that problem with really cold Water, so I usually try to drink room temp water. No ice cubes for me!
