I can't wait to eat again!

Recommended Posts

So I developed a stricture that was dialated on Thursday and by Saturday it had closed back up. My surgeon admitted me today because I'm severely dehydrated and he'll do another endoscopy and put a stent in. I haven't been able to eat any food for the past 2 weeks. I'm hoping this does the trick and I can actually eat again. (I'm 8 weeks tomorrow.) I'm losing weight, but this isn't the way I wanted to do it! Has anyone else had a stent put in for a stricture? How was it? How long were you able to have it in? I'm feeling really scared and so frustrated. I'm thankful that I did not develop a leak, but I never anticipated this type of complication. It sucks! I have not been able to reach the point of being happy I got my sleeve because of all of this. I would kill to eat a salad!

Thank you! I hope someone that has gone through something similar posts, too. I don't know where else to get advice from. No one I know has had WLS.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
