msreaina 133 Posted May 20, 2013 I was sleeved January 14, 2013 I am down 79 pounds. I need to lose a total of 150 pounds so I am half way there now. I hope I can do it. Good luck to all of you as well.
cinward2001 141 Posted May 20, 2013 37 lbs to get back to my original Lapband goal of 175. But this time around, I think I'd like to see what 150 feels like...so my goal is really more like 60 lbs. I know that doesn't sound like much for those of you wanting to lose 100 or more lbs, but because it's not as much, in some ways it might be harder to lose it. I don't know yet since I was sleeved May 14th. It'd be lovely if it just "came off", but honestly, I expect for it to take 9 months or more.
Suko67 52 Posted May 20, 2013 I am 4 weeks post-op, i have lost 27 lbs--and I hit ONEderland, right after my 3rd week stall (lasted 5 days). I am 5'4" and I need to lose 100 lbs total to get to a BMI of 20. BMI of 20 is where I felt the healthiest. I have 70 lbs to go! It's only been a month, but I feel wonderful and I am quite pleased with my weight loss and my long-considered decision to have this surgery. 1 VSG_me reacted to this

Fallenangel2904 494 Posted May 20, 2013 According to the BMI scale and what a 'normal' weight should be my excess body weight was about 220lbs. That would put me at around 160lbs. For myself I think I'm okay if I don't get there. I've already lost 100lbs another 50 would be great. That would leave me around 230 which I know for some that is a starting weight lol but I would be okay there. If and when i get there i can reevaluate. I'm mostly just going to see where my body will take me and be happy with the number/size even if according to the BMI chart that still makes me overweight. Then again i like having a little meat on my bones which i know isn't everyones cup of tea. But for me- I'm mobile now, something I wasn't 100 pounds ago. I can shop in normal clothing store now, I can live life and my health is good again. Something it sure wasn't at almost 400 pounds. I'm grateful for that and as I put that into perspective the number on the scale becomes less and less important. Just my opinion. 1 sixbuttons reacted to this
devine.adon 49 Posted May 20, 2013 Well I certainly hope to loose 150-200 lbs, I have spoke with several people that have had it and so far it seems that the more you have to loose the faster it comes off at first. (This is just gathered from the people I've spoke with) most of the the ones I've spoke with that started out 220 lbs and under have lost weight at a slower pace. I'm not saying this is true for everyone, just happens that is how it's happens to these few. I did talk to one lady that was over 400 lbs and she lost about 160 lbs the first 6 months! May have just been a fluke thing but its possible!!
