I was in Mexicali in March. It was in the 80's and 90's. I did my walking around the hospital outside.

Just don't over do it. And follow your doc's orders.

Yes.. We lounged by the poolside and also did every touristy thing we could. They have a huge flea market area and beaches and lots of awesome places to visit

ENJOY YOURSELF!

I'm going to Tijuana, on July 7th for my procedure on the 8th! Super excited! So you don't feel too sore to do the "touristy" stuff? I was wondering if i'd even be able to get outside much come july as its pretty hot...I deffinatly hope to hit the pool for some last minute swimming on arrival day ;) Do you know if you can start taking the unflavored Protein powders in your crystal lite drinks/jello right after surgery? I want to make sure to start taking the protein as soon as possible after surgery...

Everyone is different on what they can do after surgery. I was fortunate and was nonstop from post-on. Did all the touristy stuff plus more. Spent an extra night just so we could have more fun. Then we added an extra day so we could play in San Diego. Had a blast. Did the Protein Powder drinks but you have to do it Water only and nothing else. Did Vitamins and meds the evening of surgery. No issues.

I just left the TJ Marriott on Monday. I did NOT go to the pool, although I wish I had now. I was by myself and did not do any touristy things with my poor swollen tummy, I was concerned about being jostled. The Marriott pool is beautiful.

I was actually tired from constantly being woken up in the middle of the night being checked on for vitals and nurses. So the second I got to the hotel, I wrapped my heating pad around my tummy and fell asleep watching a movie. It was wonderful.

Everyone is different. I did bring my swimsuit. But maybe play it by ear and see where your energy level is when you get there.

Left the Marriott Tuesday. We sat by the pool and enjoyed the sun and breeze every day. Abraham, our coordinator, did take my hubby and my sister in law (who was sleeved also) to Revolution to shop. The weren't too impressed shopping there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
