I know, I know, they are going to happen. I'm 7 weeks out and in my second one. I get it but this week (total for the week) I actually gained 1.4 lbs. I know lots of it was sodium that I didn't realize I had eaten until after the fact but still. I'm just irritated with myself. As of tomorrow this stall will be two weeks, I'm ready for it to break.

I had a 7 week stall and then just a pound here and there.. That's my weight loss. I've come to be ok with it. Sometimes, I just pretend I'm losing because I know I will. Be patient! ;)

I am 5 weeks out and have only lost 2 pounds over the last two weeks:( Im down 34 pounds and get frustrated that I wont lose anymore and then I hear about people losing more than that on their own without surgery and i get even more frustrated. How do you break these stalls?

I don't think there's any magic trick to break the stalls. Try different things or just be patient. I don't believe you'd be losing any faster on you're own.. But you'd for sure be gaining it back when you gave up.

Seriously, this isn't going to happen over night or in just a few months. It takes many months and you need to work it and stay positive. I'm a very slow loser but I am losing and that's what matters

Use these stalls to get used to eating better and getting healthy.

You will eventually get where you want.. But doing it correctly is way more important than how quickly you get there. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
