What is your favorite thing to eat?? Maybe you can have some version of it so you can at least eat something.

Why don't you call your dr and ask for some anti-nausea meds...

Sounds like you are having a rough time of it. So sorry to hear that. How are your liquids going down? If you are dehydrated, it can make you feel nausea in your stomach. Could you be on a medication that is contributing to that?

If you are not on a nausea medication, maybe ask about one. Until you can get your tummy feeling better I can imagine you won't want to eat. You have to try though, and if you can get a bit down, it might make you start to feel better, especially Protein. Try some Protein spiked sugarfree pudding. Blend in the Protein powder and skim milk then add the pudding and it blends it up nice and you can't taste the protein. It could sooth your tummy and calm it down.

I'm sorry you are not feeling good yet. sometimes it just takes longer so hang in there and hopefully soon you will grow to love your sleeve.

Don't have regrets just yet! While I was not nauseous at 3 weeks, I can totally relate to not feeling quite like yourself. It took me 2 months to start feeling slightly normal. Some people are feeling great after a week or so but not me. I was agitated at the smallest things, mad because I couldn't eat normally like everyone else in the house, and worried that I just would not succeed in this whole ordeal. And to top it all off I discovered that I was a slow loser where weight is concerned. Yippe.:(

BUT - sure enough it did get better and I even quit being mad about not being able to eat. I can't say that I'm happy about it now at 9 weeks but I've accepted it and am feeling normal enough to just make the best of it. I notice that I have more energy and wake up mostly happy these days. As far as eating goes I eat what I want and enjoy the few bites I can manage. Hang in there! I know it sounds like a broken record to tell you it gets better, but it really does and pretty soon you will have a smile on your pretty face :)

Aw, Right after surgery I had similar feelings.. mainly I thought, "What did I do to myself?" and this was because I was very happy with my love of food. I didn't eat bad, I just ate a lot; and now I lost my friend and I am stuck with this liquid friend.

More of us know exactly what you are a feeling. Some of it has to do with the hormones, some of it has to do with head hunger, and some of it has to do with reality. You have the sleeve, so now you have to move forward and learn to re-enjoy foods, one at a time.

In the beginning you will feel ill and this has a lot to do with the Protein shakes. Find a good one and you will be ok. You can still have your food friend.. he just can't be your food lover anymore, LOL. Try some samples from unjury.com and Syntrax nectar in chocolate Truffle, vanilla bean torte, and strawberry mousse. Switching it up can definitely help with the nausea.

P.M. me if you want to talk.

Oh this is such a normal feeling. I posted the exact message many times. I threw up daily and regretted the surgery. Then I read a post of a girl who was regretting surgery and said she had nothing to live for. Everyone told her that there is no going back and look to the future. I took the advice at 5 -6 weeks. I went that day to have a mani /pedi and started feeling better. I haven't looked back. I am now seven weeks out with a 42 lb loss and am finally happy and don't regret the surgery anymore. Feel better, this too shall pass.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
