@ Darkplaces: I guess it proves that we are all different no matter what and what is comfortable for a 150lb person may not be ideal for one that is meant to be 200lbs, I'm happy my doctor understood that, he wanted 150 -160lbs as my goal, u said I could already feel my collarbones and I didn't want to look slender( my preference, I prefer a little bulk on me) we decided at 190-194lbs would be ideal, now at a stall at 284, but happy since u started in January at 388lbs, I'm gonna get there just gotta keep focused

I was 302 when I started the process. I have the sleeve procedure and this morning I was 169lbs. I have been 159lbs for one day. I gained since last thanksgiving, but I honestly just ate bad. I was 178 in June. I'm getting back on track now. I've lost almost 10 lbs since June.

I was sleeved 07/09/2015 and weighed 334 on surgery day. Prior to that, I weighed 361.4 on March 22nd. I'm 5ft 0in, so yeah, I really needed this surgery! I'm now down to 283.6, and have zero regrets! To answer your question, you're definitely not alone. :)

I had my sleeve on 9/28/15. When I started I was 397 and now I am down to 351. My surgery weigh in was 367, but I am just 2 weeks post-op so woo. Glad to see that there are plenty of others on the same journey around the same weight area. :)

My highest weight ever was 497. The day I saw the surgeon for the 1st time I weighed 352. I am on a 6 month supervised diet and am down to 325. Looks like surgery will be sometime in Jan. I am doing this so I can walk again. By the way I am looking for friends, so feel free to send an friend invite.

I started my pre-surgery diet at 352lbs. My measured highest was in the 370's.

I guess it meant I had more to love. :)

I was well over 300lbs! 388 to be exact. Hard to say that number! I just had my 1 year surgiversary and am feeling great! I am down 126lbs and sure wish it was more but am grateful for how much better I feel. I just went to an amusement park with my family a couple weeks ago and had no concerns with fitting and riding all the rides I wanted! That was so exciting! I still have about 50-70ish till my goal, but weight loss has slowed a lot. This surgery is not an easy way out. It has been a daily battle and mental game, but so worth it. Good luck to everyone and remember to be proud of every pound lost.

I used to joke there was getting to be too much of me to love.

@@apeters9284 - Congrats on your eight loss. My highest weight was 414, I was 412 DOS. I had no pre-op diet or med supervised 6mth diet. I'm down 114 but I'm short so I still have a ways to go. I like hearing how others are fairing year 2. I'll admit I had a bit of hiccup because I got in my head head thinking about having another year before I am close to goal. Had to do some readjusting. I'm attending the support group tomorrow and I changed up my workout routine a little.

*Finally* under 300! I know that's not a big deal to many, but for me it's a cause for celebration. This has been a long time coming!

Next goal is to get to 214 which will means I will have officially lost 50% of my body weight. I think I'll aim for hitting that by May.

I am new to this online support group and very excited to read of many success stories. It gives me great hope for my weight loss story to come. I am 4 days out from my surgery and very excited. The last time I officially weight myself I was 370lbs. Being 5'4 that's pretty heavy. I have 250 lbs to loose and I can't wait to get there!

@@Amanda Elder - This site can be a great source of encouragement. Like any place online you take the good with the bad. It's challenging when you have more than 100 lbs or so to lose, because for the most part you know your journey will take more than a year. This thread is a nice reminder that even though it takes a little longer, it can be done. When I start feeling discouraged I come hang out here.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
