I notice that must sleeves are in the high 200's but is there anyone who started higher. My weight day off was 362 give or take a pound....my doctor told me the most common procedure for my weight was the bypass but the long term results are very much the same. Im 5'7" but I definitely strated off way bigger than some posts I see...just curious to know I'd I'm alone lol

I started at 416, and there are folks here that started higher than me. You are definitely not alone!

My surgeon suggested bypass to me as well but I insisted on having the sleeve.

I weighed 385 on my surgery day. I don't know what the future holds but I have lost 52 lbs since surgery. Look in the 200+ pounders forum for more inspiration.

Thanks ladies you helped ease a lot of concern. I originally started at 400 as well, it's great to see you all doing so good. Can't wait until I'm losing fifty plus....

You are not alone... I started at 358# a little over six months ago. And I have lost over 100#. Honestly, I think it depends on the surgeon. Mine was suggesting the sleeve from the beginning. The results are pretty similar.

It's not always about the total weight, take into account the height/weight ratio, and BMI, and you will find that even though some weighed less than you starting, they technically would have farther to go so to speak. My starting BMI was 46.9, and to get to an 'average' weight at 5'3", I have more to lose than someone who weighed 301 and is 5'8". Also, age and gender are big players too. There are many of us from all shapes and walks of life, so don't worry. You are not alone in anyway on this journey :)

My top weight was 472. I lost 50 lbs prior to surgery and have lost 43 since surgery which was March 8th. I have a long way to go, but already feel so much better! My Dr. suggested the sleeve surgery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
