Ok, I am in no way freaking out, YET, but I am a bit frustrated. I was sleeved may 3rd. I feel wonderful. I am active, still struggling to et Water in due to pain and nausea from the water, but prior to surgery on the 2 week pre diet, I lost 20 pounds. I get sleeved, yak for 3 days, come home on liquids, and to date have only lost 1 whole pound. Am I doing something wrong, or missing something? I just though the stall didnt start till 2 weeks, but this is a bit disappointing I guess If I am honest

Im 9 weeks in.... Since my surgery I have struggled with 3lbs. I will lose a lot and then stall an go up and down three pounds then I will lose. Then I will do it again... Up and down 3lbs. I asked a lady that had the surgery and she said to drink lots of Water bc she does the same. I know you said you get sick, but I did what she said and it worked. I know everyone is different though. Just a tip for you. Good luck! :)

you HAVE to give your body TIME TO HEAL....... you will GAIN, you will lose, YOU WILL GAIN....... do not just go on the # on the scale....... it is NOT accurate......... you will LOSE INCHES but GAIN #............. do NOT be so focused on the #.......... you will go WEEKS and not lose a #.............but your INCHES are MELTING!!!!!!!!!!!!.................. do what you KNOW you are suppose to do............drink that water...... Holler if I can help.......... do NOT FOCUS on THE #

You probably still have Fluid retention from the IV fluids you received in the hospital. I gained 14 lbs of fluid from that but it came off in around a week, and then I started losing "real" weight. Hang in there and try not to weigh for at least another week...and drink as much Water as you can and walk as much as you can.

That's great you los 20 lbs on the 2 week pre-diet!

I'm guessing your body is still adjusting to that huge loss and you will see another drop soon.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
