HealthQuest 1 Posted December 13, 2006 I've been a self-professed chocaholic all my life. If it had chocolate in it I was in. Well since banding I can't stand anything chocolate, not even the Protein Shakes. I now hate the taste of chocolate. This band is weird.
Kat817 19 Posted December 13, 2006 Maybe it is just a differently answered prayer!! Everything going ok since being banded other than the sudden aversion to chocolate? Kat
HealthQuest 1 Posted December 13, 2006 Thanks Kat, all is well. I don't own a scale so I don't know exactly how much I've lost. But I sure feel better and look quite a bit smaller. Don't ask why I don't own a scale, because I don't know. I just never got around to buying one. Guess subconsciously I couldn't handle it.:cry
Terrilen 0 Posted December 13, 2006 OMG do I wish that were the case with me! Count your blessings, chocolate goes in the band VERY easy! I fight my cravings everyday! Sometimes I do not win sad to say.
PatU 0 Posted December 16, 2006 Hi, HQ: I've had a very similar experience with my band. I used to love chocolate myself but had to switch to vanilla Protein shakes. The chocolate became too sweet and not at all desirable. I have been able to enjoy little Hersey's miniatures lately though. It doesn't take much to satisfy my sweet tooth these days! edieparks 2 Posted December 16, 2006 The chocolate flavor "outer limits" happened to me too. I switched to strawberry flavor. Now months later I do crave about once a week chocolate rice cakes. edie
flabuless 18 Posted December 17, 2006 funny thing that...chocolate doesn't do it for me now either...considering my whole life revolved around it pre lapband! I guess my tastebuds have changed! becky
Jachut 487 Posted December 17, 2006 I dont "hate" chocolate now, but I dont have anything like the tolerance I once had for rich foods, they make me feel sick very quickly.
Gummiebear 0 Posted December 18, 2006 I have the problem with chocolate that when I eat it I get very severe gas pains for a few hours, I am almost doubled over in pain followed by really bad diareaha. I didnt have this before my band, I had an ultra sound on my gal bladder and they say its fine. So I am not sure why I have such a severe reaction to chocolate.
