Best walking or running shoes?

Wondering which shoes would be best?

It really depends on your foot. I highly recommend going to a running shoe specialty store because they will measure and exam the way your foot is arched, etc. I spent $160 on a pair of Brooks that have a high instep because I have plantar fasciitis, and I will NEVER wear any other shoe except one that has a high instep in it! Worth every penny and then some, they are so comfortable, I want to wear them all the time, and I'm more of a Yellow Box girl. Footsmart.com is also a good website if you already know how what type of support you need for your feet.

Yes, I would go to a running store so they can analyze how you walk and your foot shape. It depends on the width and arch of your foot, if you overpronate or under. It really will be worth it to find some nearly-customized shoes for you.

In my previous life I was a runner and I LOVED New Balance, they never let me down! Now I am not able to run but still wear New Balance, they are so comfortable and provide good support. All that said it really depends on you, your feet and your comfort. My husband will only wear Nike, so really it's a personal choice. I would say go try on a few different brands and styles and see what works best for you, but if you plan on running definitely get running sneakers. Good luck :)

I've been very impressed with the Asics. Personally I love the Asics Keyano 19 model. They have quite a few models, and it depends what you need, such as over pronation or neutral, etc.

Truly depends on your foot and how you place your feet when running. It's worth going to a running specialty store. Brooks is a good running shoe but you need the right fit. Good Luck

The Brooks "Beast" is the most often recommended walking/running support shoe for obese folks. It's ugly as sin, but highly touted.

I wear them as my every day shoe. I don't know if they would make a good running show. They are a bit on the heavy side. They are comfortable for just knocking around, but I don't like running in them.

I love my Nike Pegasus 29 that I have been running on for 5 months now ( fitted at a local running store). They still have a lot of life in them so have held up well ( about 20 miles a week and I am primarily a treadmill runner). I will be getting these again when the time comes. They are super light. I feel like they really help me run with good form and fast (ran two 5:50 min miles this morning both before and after my WOD I did). These are used only for running. I do not use them for anything else by decision.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
