nervousnellie 50 Posted May 12, 2013 This may be a silly question, but I thought I'd see what you guys think. At one week post op for me, my girlfriends are all going to see The Great Gatsby in 3D. Do you think my stomach will handle it any different post-op? Sorry if that's just silly. I'm not really nauseous but I was somewhat prone to motion sickness before surgery, so I didn't know if it might be any worse afterwards. Or, is it more one's ears that contribute to motion sickness??? I am so not a science minded person! What do you all think?
gmanbat 5,889 Posted May 12, 2013 I can't forsee Gatsby having any motion sickness inducing scenes. However, I would stay away from Avatar if anyone has a 3D TV. Those Pandora floating mountain scenes where they are flying the banshees are a sure upchucker. 2 nervousnellie and ProudGrammy reacted to this
johnlatte 1,232 Posted May 12, 2013 Actually it is an interesting question. Motion sickness starts in the inner ear in the vestibular system. It has been documented that certain films can cause motion sickness, but most of these are IMAX types of movies and not necessarily 3-D. Keeping that in mind, I would think that if you aren't having motion sickness now , you won't with the sleeve. If you are having those issues before the sleeve, then I don't think it will be any more severe. 1 nervousnellie reacted to this
