I make my own Starbucks drink. I buy their passion tea mix and use crystal light for the lemonade. I love my pink drink!! :)

That's a smart idea I may have to do that! I loved the passion tea lesson aids.

Starbucks has Protein and Fiber powder available for an extra .50 charge, as many scoops as you want.

One scoop has 30 calories and 10gm Protein. If you want it hot make sure the person making it knows to mix it in with the cold milk before steaming the milk, otherwise you end up with nasty tasting lumps.

Man, I feel so different from all the others on this thread. At Starbucks or a local barista, I drink just a grande non-fat latee or mocha with a SF flavor like vanilla or hazelnut. Usually, I have one of these a week. Sometimes 2-3 a week. I usually always have a cup of coffee every day with coffee mate coconut Creamer (2 tsp) and Splenda or a Cappuccino with 8 oz frothed milk. Love my verismo to help make the coffees at home. I have not drank Decaf, just the regular bean. I love my coffee!

I am enjoying that right now! But sub out the hazelnut for the coffee mate vanilla.

I tried decaf for a while, but then slowly started blending decaf with reg. then soon on to straight reg. if you keep your diet fairly normal and eat what you're supposed to the caffeine is not going to hurt =)

I was a coffee drinker before the surgery and liked it chock full of caffeine. I try to get Decaf and then use non fat milk and artificial sweetener - both hot and cold. If I know I'm going to be working long hours and need some caffeine I buy their low calorie iced coffee at my local grocery store and bring it with me. It has 50 calories for 11oz which is really tied to the milk in it and it takes me a really long time to drink it.

I've been drinking regular caffeinated coffee since day 14. Doesn't bother me at all. I can only get down a half a cup. I make sure I drink an extra cup of Water so the caffeine doesn't dehydrate me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
