I was just googling some info, and this app forum came up. I swear I almost cried. I have huge support from my family, but I'm the one going through it. My sleeve date was May 1. The new beginning of my life. I've always battled with weight, my family and friends know I'm healthy. No underlined n medical problems whatsoever, my blood pressure is that of an athlete. Anyway. I got it done bc I was tired of being fat. And I worked out, walked dieted. And still fat! Just healthy. My recovery was good, I was in the hospital longer due to me being nauseated. Goodness that was a mess, come to find out. It was one of the meds that was supposed to stop the nausea that was causing it. Ha! Congratulations to all of you ladies and gentlemen. And thank whomever made this forum and I pray that we are a great support to one another as we are all on the same journey. HUGS TO YOU ALL!!!

Thank you all. My surgery was great. And as I said, other than the nausea. I felt great. I didn't use the pain meds at the hospital because I'd the pain, but because it put me to sleep despite the nausea. I feel great. The only thing. Is make sure you DRINK YOUR WATER!!! Otherwise you'll feel beyond tired. Hugs to you all!! Excited is the best word I can use to describe what I'm feeling.

I lost 13lbs in my first 9 days post op! :) I'm not expecting that every week because of the hospital fluids/water weight, but YAY!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
