Satchel 42 Posted May 11, 2013 I believe it was 8 weeks for me, but when I ate my first salad, I ordered an oriental grilled chicken salad (which I had been craving) and ate only part of a small size, and it was wonderful! I checked with my nutritionist first, though.
LiggleLiggle 84 Posted May 11, 2013 I craved a salad for weeks before I could have one (6 weeks) and it is my favorite meal which is such an improvement over ice cream being my favorite thing . I had the band for almost 6 years and could eat no salad so now i am digging them! 1 Satchel reacted to this

bmbrush413 124 Posted May 12, 2013 I'm almost 7 weeks out and scared to try salad! LOl
playlikeworldchamps 595 Posted May 12, 2013 was allowed any food at 6 weeks but told it would be trial an error. was told that I probably wouldn't be able to eat salad for 6 months though I could try. also told that breads would be difficult as they can puff up and fill you up. I have had small bites of bread and small bites of veggies but have to use my teeth to purée! I am two months out only though.
mikeross 216 Posted May 12, 2013 Careful with those sauces they pack some serious calories per tablespoon. I started eating salads at about 5-6 weeks but believe it or not, salad is a slider food for me. I can literally eat about ten loose cups of salad, 50/50 spring mix/baby spinach with carrots and cucumbers mixed in. Lucky I love a good salad and happy I can eat more than a regular portion of it. I use a variety of salad dressings which range from 80-120 calories per two tablespoons. That's a lot of calories for a few dollops dressing but the greens dont really have any calories... well less than 40. Just trying to illustrate how quickly the calories can add up if you use sauces to flavor certain dishes.
