I'm 3 days post op and my biggest issue is I never feel like I have drunk enough Water. I can manage 2 oz and then I wait like 15 minutes. Is this normal and will it go away

Instead of trying to get it in at one go, try slowly sipping - that gives the Water a chance to get through all the swollen bits in a small, steady stream rather than trying to force through. Keep in mind that your stomach just had major trauma, and it is almost certainly extremely swollen. As it heals, the swelling will reduce and it will become easier.

As the others have said this is perfectly normal and a direct result of the swelling. The one piece of advice I try to give everyone is to try to drink warm liquids early on as it will help reduce the internal swelling, this Is what I did and was able to get well over my required Water intake by the 2nd day post op, always keep in mind everyone heals at their own rate so you mileage may vary. Good Luck now and throughout your continued journey.

Keep sipping. It is a full time job and you will be able to gradually increase the amounts. But just always sipping adds up. For me, the first week to quench that thirst I felt, I sucked on crushed ice chips. The were like heaven. I got a big bag of Sonic ice, (the best ice ever) and just went to town on them. It felt good on my throat and for me, cold worked much better than warm, but it does seem like lots of folks preferred the warm.

Good luck!
