I can eat 3 Popsicles (sugar free) in one sitting?

Recommended Posts

I'm 6 days out (may 3 was surgery day). I am able to have one - sometimes one and a half Protein shakes each day. It is still difficult to drink Water with or without Crystal Light .... But Popsicles, I feel like I could eat them all day!

Other than this recent addiction to Popsicles, I am feeling like myself again. I went shopping today, walked, and mowed grass.

Anyone else with a Popsicle addiction? I really can eat three in one sitting!

This is a great question! The only one i can find that is sugar free (so far) is the Popsicle brand.

Weight watchers makes one that is high in Protein - 5g I believe, but not sugar free.< /p>

Suggestions?

I am 4days post op and and an only tolerate 1/2 a Popsicle' date=' 1 Protein shake and 1/2 can of Soup a day I'm barely meeting Protein goal which is 40g and barely meeting Fluid intake which is 64oz daily

Any suggestions? Or am I doing ok for just being 4days post op[/quote']

I felt similar to you a few days ago. Are you able to keep any Water down? My Dr. says not to push anything. Just keep sipping, sipping, sipping. My protein goal is 60 - 75g a day, i am nowhere close to this.

How are you feeling otherwise?

You are doing great! All the liquids you are drinking go toward you Fluid intake, even the frozen popsicles. As long as you are not taking in caffenine(sp)

its a month since my surgery...but I definitely had a favorite... cushed ice... ate tons of crushed ice with a spoon... lol :) I like popsicles too :) I found a sugar free one at Walmart( believe it or not) its like the old ones when I was a kid... double sided ones... and they have assorted flavors in the pack... pack of 24 for $1.98... sugar free... no Protein in them tho... but the flavors are awesome. grape ,banana... coconut, blueberry, orange, cherry..... love them all... :)

Your only 4 days out and your stomach is still heaIinng. Your doing good! I can relate to your problem, Try sucking on ice chips…that is what saved me (and popsicles). Plain Water, flavored water, warm Water or cold water, just did not agree with my stomach. Protein shakes I loved prior to surgery I could not tolerate. Good luck, everyday gets better! :)

I now drink ice cold water with no problem!

I am almost five months out and still eat them. I don't eat them as much as I did at first (maybe I wasn't getting in as much liquid at that point) but still love them.

I buy the Popsicle brand (they're 15 calories each and taste fine) and the Dreyer's/Edy's brand. The Dreyer's/Edy brand are 25 calories each and a bit more expensive -- but they're SO good. They're not as easy for me to come by, but when I find them I almost have to buy them.

OMG... I don't know if it is the warmer weather or what but I am like a popsicle fiend! I seriously eat 2 or 3 a day!! I used to love fudgcicles but not so much now... I love those Edy's ones too but our local ShopRite has had the popsicle brand ones on sale for $2.27 a box so I stocked up on the sugar free ones!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
