Got sleeved on 4/18 but I'm worried because I don't see any changes in my belly. I've noticed my jeans a little slimmer around the waist lost 2-4 inches but my belly seems it has no change?

How long did it take for you to see a change in the size of your belly?

I understand I had my surgery on the 8th and I have shrunk every where but my stomach. All my pants fit a little lose and my stomach but are so huge on my legs. I think we are just all different and some places lose faster then others but I know my stomach has gone down because well I won't get into details but just stay focused. You may not see it or feel it but it's happening just be patient

Okayy maybe I'm impatient. Its good to know I'm not alone in feeling this way. Hopefully stomach shrinks faster. My legs - lets jus say I have to keep walking and jogging it all off.

There's really no way to tell your body "hey, I want you to let go of some fat in this area, not that area." Where your body burns fat from is mostly genetically based. That's why some of us carry our weight different places (pear shape, apple shape, etc...). But keep on keepin' on, and when your body burns the fat in the places it wants to first, it will have no choice but to pull from the parts it would rather hold on to fat. :)

Yes just be patient and no you're not alone I know exactly how you feel. Just keep at it I try and do little things for my stomach like while on the elliptical machine I suck in my stomach for as long as possible and keep doing it till I get off

Relax!! Your only 3 weeks out!!! Where did you expect you'd be 3 weeks out? It's a marathon journey, not a sprint!!! It will happen!! Weigh yourself and take your measurements on the same day only once a week. Track your progress. Don't put a lot of stress on yourself about it!!!

I'm almost 4 months out, I am down 60 pounds and I carry most of my weight in my belly. I started in a size 26 and I'm in a 22. I still have a belly :( but it is a smaller belly :) Overall people can tell I'm smaller and my old shirts fit different. It will happen.

I am also 3 weeks post op. I am mostly losing in my breasts and stomach, but I am not down a size yet. I definitely still have a stomach, but its smaller. My pants are looser but I tried a smaller size and could not button them comfortably. I also feel frustrated and want a more immediate result, but in the long run I know it will be better to lose it slowly, so it will take longer to go down sizes. Focus on your goal, not how quickly you will get there.

I am finding it hard to buy pants because my stomach is at least one size bigger than my ass and legs. Very frustrating but it is what is is.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
