What is your typical Menu as a Bandster?

Recommended Posts

Give me an example of what you eat everyday. What do you eat for Breakfast, what time? Whats for lunch, how many ounces? Whats for dinner? Do you snack? What do you eat for snack?

Do you exercise? How often?

hi Sunshine

breakfast is normally 1 scrambled egg w/ a slice of swiss cheese and mushrooms

lunch is either a south beach wrap pack (2 small wraps 230 cals 24 gm protein) or a chicken breast on 1 piece of bread w/ pepper jack cheese and mushrooms

i've been getting kind of hungry on the SB wraps lately though

dinner is mostly fish right now - i am on a mahi mahi kick ... mmmmm

and veggies

Snacks range from a handfull of almonds to a SF / FF dulce Jello pudding cup - 60 cals

lots of crystal light, etc...

that's the best thing about this - it is not a "diet" in the sense of the word. sure you are watching what you are eating, but it is not THAT restrictive... i dont ever want to be on a diet again.

It shouldn't be that restrictive. When I got my band, I said I would never diet again, and I don't. You just need to learn to listen to your body and your band. They will let you know when you are no longer hungry and it is time to stop eating. I don't measure or count anything, who wants to live life that way? Not me!

So i would have to add in a Protein shake and get some measuring cups or a little weigh machine to help me keep track of the ounces

wow did think it would be that much work

not at all... i measured my Cereal once so i could get a good look of 1 1/2 servings of Cereal was. now i just eye ball it.

i do not do Protein drinks much except after my fill (1 day). i get my Protein from solid food ... mmmmm ... food ... :)

I haven't measured anything either. I just eyeball it too. You will learn that your band is in charge. Some days I can only eat about 4 bites at a meal and some days I can eat 1 cup of food. I never know what to expect.

I eat Special K Meal bars (10 grams protein) and I love Stoffers frozen meals. They are around 10 oz and with my fill last week I cannot eat a whole one to the delight of my dog. I love my sugar free puddings too. I eat a small portion of whatever I fix for hubby for dinner.< /p>

Best wishes,

edie

I usually eat a couple of pieces of sandwich toast for Breakfast

a couple of small cracker biscuits for morning tea

a pitabread with some kind of filling for lunch (ie cottage cheese & tuna)

a couple of low calorie sweet biscuits for afternoon tea (arrowroot)

and meat and veges for dinner...my servings are the inside circle of a side plate.

:) becky

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
