I'm so confused! I'm up and down on the scale an can't seem to figure out what to do to start making this work. I'm 6 weeks out today and I've lost 42lbs. But I've stalled and gained then lost for the past 2 weeks. I'm working out eating low carb low calories. I can't seem to win! I need advice! I self paid in Mexico so I don't really have a NUT to help. Any advice greatly appreciated!!

Don't give up or quit! Everyone hits a stall and it's normal. Make sure your getting enough calories, rest, Water, exercise and most of all give yourself permission to "breath and relax". Enjoy the spot your in right now. You weren't there 6 weeks ago. You were 42lbs heavier and just starting this journey. Sometimes our bodies need a "reset" time to readjust to where it is right now. Give it a little time and then the body will be rested and ready to forge forward with a drive to succeed as long as you are there to encourage it along. Keep your chin up and look ahead. You are a success story already and your just beginning!!!

Hang in there, I was sleeved three weeks ago (4/16) and I am in a similar spot. I was losing steady 2lbs every morning, but for the last 5 days I have not lost a single pound and infact I gained 2 lbs back. Everyone I have talked to says this is normal to plateau and that it could last for 2-3 weeks. My father has also had a WLS and in the first month he plateaued for 3.5 weeks then bam back to the steady weight loss. stay strong :-)

I have lived your frustration, and certainly reading about everyone's ( or at least at times it seems like everyone but you) big losses etc every day doesn't help matters. Since you don't have a NUTm let me ask. How many calories are you getting in? Protein? Water?

Up until 6 weeks I was taking in about 600-800 calories. At my 6 week followup, after not losing for a few weeks, my NUT told me to aim for 1000 calories. She advised I should be getting the majority of those calories and my protein from regular lean foods, not shakes/bars. (she ok'd one Protein Bar or shake a day) She advised me to eat 4 or 5 times a day, small meals, about 4oz. each. I've been slow and steady since. I will lose a good chuck (sometimes 10lbs.) in one week, then nothing for two. I made my peace with it. I'm able to get in around 80- 100oz of water a day also.

Do you track your food with a program like "MyFitnessPal"? This helps me a lot.

Try not to be discouraged, you are doing great!
