Both insurances (Federal BCBS and MassHealth) have approved me and my surgery is scheduled for May 21! Now I am freaking out! An absolute bundle of nerves. I still need to tell people (the only person who knows is my boyfriend)! I need to tell my family but don't know when. Friday is my sister's graduation and Sunday is Mother's Day. I don't want to steal anyone's deserved attention. Do I tell them now or wait until next week? Help!!!

Where are u having surgery? How long did it take for your approval? I got my surgery date of May 16 but docs has not even submitted to insurance yet. They say they are not worried it usually takes a few days. They submit tomorrow my surgery will be at Brigham and Woman's Faulkner Boston.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
