Hrm... maybe have your labs done? It sounds like you're doing the things that normally help!

yep...losing it by the hand full also, but I still have a lot of hair so I'm not worried. It will grow back. I just hope it doesn't come back all white since I'm stating to get white hair....lol

Mine was coming out in clumps. The daily heartbreak was killing me. I was horrified at the handfuls of hair every time I brushed or showered. I had my head shaved bald last Sunday. My friend who did it for me took a clump of hair, pulled to check how bad it was....it ALL came out.

So I am getting free air conditioning for the summer, my hair will grow back when my body recovers from all the trauma and stabilizes. The forums seem to put Hair loss at 3-6 months. Mine did this in a big way at 3 weeks. I am gaining health and my beauty is not my hair

Oh no....so is it inevitable? I do not look forward to losing hair. Talk about adding insult to injury. I've been pumped up with Vitamins, supplements, and plenty of Biotin for 6 weeks now. I sure hope it helps.

It freaked me out a bit when it first started happening to me, even though my surgeon discussed it with me before surgery. Heck I even had to sign a form stating that I understood that this would happen!

But at 6 months (it started at 4 for me) it has definitely slowed down. I lost a lot! when I pull my hair back it feels so thin in my hands now :(

But I will say I'm the only one who really notices the thinness. But my family is sick of seeing my hair EVERYWHERE!

I told them if you are sick of my hair in the food I can always stop making dinner! :P

That's funny! Not! But I know what you mean I keep seeing the part In my hair looking bigger.

But just today I was blow drying my hair and the sides looked so thin as the air hit it, all I could see is scalp!

Not to mention when I blow dry hair flys all over the bathroom! :o

Hell even my hair in the profile picture looks thinner! :P

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
