Give stats, helpful advice, etc. How much weight you have lost, how long it took. etc. In some case I have found it takes a lower BMI patient a lot longer to lose the weight. housecatgirl 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I'm in.=) I've lost about 40 lbs. in about 4 months. Unfortunately, the loss has come to a halt in the last month. I started at around a BMI of 35. I was too tight for a couple of months. I don't recommend losing like that since you risk slipping your band. Luckily, my band is fine. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I always would hit plateaus with weight loss, so now it will be awesome to hear how people with lower bmi's get past those plateaus and get the weight moving again! I was a little higher than that, I started at a 39bmi and lost 50 pounds the first 4 months then my fill last month was too tight and I got a slight unfill Tuesday but my losing has came to a halt. toqu 0 Posted December 12, 2006 My BMI was 37 and I have lost approximately 8lbs since being banded 10/31/06. ~Jules~ 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I started out at 36 and am now at 31. I am a big girl still, but I am 5'11". I still have about 60 pounds or so to lose. I was a self pay for several reasons. My insurance required a 40 bmi for one thing. I had rather pay for it myself than to gain the weight to have the surgery. Kind of crazy, huh?! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It seems like those who really "stick" to the rules do best and I wonder if for the lower BMI's, if that would help the weight come off quicker. I used to exercise about 4 times a week for 2 hours, but after my kids had Thanksgiving break and then sick (two weeks), I couldn't get my butt back to the gym. I still can't. I just need a kick in the butt or some major accountability. Maybe we can check in with each other, write what we ate, what supplements/vitamins/appetite suppresant, how much fluids we took in and what form of exercise we did. Also, how we feel, mentally and physcially. I know it helps me to journal my feelings, emotions, anger, etc then I can relate it to me or the food issues. As for me, this is what I ate today: Breakfast: 1 Protein shake 240 calories Lunch: Lean Cuisine 320 calories Supplements: Glacial Milk liquid Vitamins, liquid B's Vitamins, 1 cod liver oil pill, 2 Green T appetite suppressants(one in the morning and one at mid day). adamsdee 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I was banded on 12/04/06. My BMI was a 36 and I am a self-pay. The day of surgery I weighed 205. I weighed 193 this morning. Big girl banded 0 Posted December 12, 2006 My bmi was around 36 I am 6ft tall so i carry the weight differently. I am stuck around the 26lb mark. I contribute this to a stint with a slipped disk (hence steriods and bed rest) and a bad cold (hence medicine and bedrest.. also eating more cause i cant tell if i cam hungry or not) I keep thinking i will get moving again...it is just a little slower then i thiought. I expect to loose a little less quick as some of the very round group. I already had a great diet... just too much ...i think a complete rehab of your diet makes you lose a lot more faster. Randi 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I started with a BMI of a little over 37 and was banded in November. I've lost about 12 lbs post-banding. My first fill was on 6 December and I returned to my exercise program last week, but the scale has not moved. My next fill will be tomorrow, 13 December.
