jd1988 10 Posted May 8, 2013 I have a question my surgery was April 30th I'm on puréed foods now... Whenever I start to eat after a few bites I get this pain in the top of my stomach.. It feels like a gas pain but its a few seconds but then it keeps coming back?? And I'm not sure if that means I'm full or what... I only am getting 2 ounces each time
No game 14,437 Posted May 8, 2013 It probably means you are very full. The most you should be eating right now is 2oz or 1/4 cup at a time.. Eat tiny bites and eat slow!
jd1988 10 Posted May 8, 2013 Thank you for the reply ... I don't really have an appetite.. It feels like all I do all day is struggle to get my Protein my Water and then my food
No game 14,437 Posted May 8, 2013 In the beginning the Water and Protein can feel like a full time job! It doe get better, but for now at 10 days out or so? Water and the Protein Shakes are most important in that order.. Purée food for a lot of us did not start until 3 weeks out or so. So I wouldn't worry to much about getting "regular" food in to much right now
jd1988 10 Posted May 8, 2013 Yeah I know I have not been getting nearly as much Water as I should

CWAM 8 Posted May 8, 2013 It does feel like a full time Job! It takes a while to get down, but at 5 weeks I think I finally have the hang of it, but it was 3 to 4 weeks before I was getting all my Water, and Protein because I got that pain also. I think I finally have the rhythm down but when it gets thrown off it all falls apart.
Lauradeh 6 Posted May 8, 2013 This is a silly question, but are Protein shakes considered part of the 64 oz daily? Or are you supposed to drink 64 oz of Water plus the Protein Shakes? ? Seems impossible!
jd1988 10 Posted May 8, 2013 Yea it is hard I can't seem to get all that in a day.. But my doctor said that it does not count as your daily liquids which sucks... But I just called my nut earlier with a Protein question about isopure... And it counts as both protein and liquid... They are expensive though.. I bought 3 20 oz. bottles of blue raspberry and it was like $15.. But it's 20 oz. of liquids and 40 grams of protein... The taste isn't to bad as long as its very cold!! So this is what I'm going to try in drink to start getting all my fluids which I have been doing terrible at... It feels like all I do all day I eat or drink and I don't want to do either.. But I know that it's important so I'm trying my best
Lauradeh 6 Posted May 8, 2013 I have been counting both as my liquids! Darn, no wonder I've been at a stall for the past 6 days.
jd1988 10 Posted May 8, 2013 I know it's hard!! It would be great if they both counted!!
