The internet is infested with tiny minded, decorum devoid, psuedo intellectuals whose main interest is to bask in the illusionary light of their self deluded power at the expense of anyone but their own loathsome sub-humanness.

Lotta jerks.

It makes me sad how mean people can be hidden behind their computers....so sad.

People that have never had a weight problem /food addiction can't understand what it's like to fight a never ending battle with yourself :(

I actually saw a box to check on my nut intake form for previous diets tried & they had jaw wiring as a diet plan.

Wtf?!?!

Jaw wiring as weight loss while it works is not a viable option.

allons-y

People sometimes say things just to get a reaction like yours. Life is too short - don't waste your time on people like that.

Comments like that are so hurtful. I hope my children will be kind human beings. I always tell them to think of other's feelings before saying something that can hurt people. There's just no more respect out there Sad, but true. I think its great that Chris Christy took action & he doesn't need to answer to anyone regarding his lap band or weight loss.

We have a local, "after the late news" show called the Edge. They try to be hip and have a couple of young DJ' types hosting. They post a lot questions on FB during the day and then talk about it and the responses. Today this is what they posted

"Would you vote for someone who had to resort to surgery to lose weight? Is there a connection between personal control and professional conduct?"

I unliked their page......

While reading these comments it occured to me why and who taught these people to be the way they are. Their parents and peers. I dont ever think us overweight people will ever be accepted in society. It took decades for people of color, gays and lesbians and even women to be finally treated equal. As for us I pray in my lifetime that maybe just maybe we will be accepted.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
