It's the same for me. Actually I doubt I've lost that much. We'll see tomorrow morning when I step on the scale. I've at least lost what I gained in surgery. And I've lost 49 since starting this whole thing. Guess its my body's way of trying to control things :/

Its normal. Your body is still swollen and holding on to Fluid. Give it at least a couple of weeks and the lbs will be falling off. And congratulations and welcome to the sleeve side.

You will get there. Your body is healing. Honestly you shouldnt weigh yourself until about a month out. That way you give your body time to heal. I know its hard not to weigh yourself, you are just to excited to find out how much you are losing. Give it time it will happen. And ofcourse congratulations and welcome to the sleeve side.

I haven't had surgery yet so I can't speak from experience, but I do work in the medical field.I know your body is going through a healing process and you could have some Fluid retention.

But on the brighter side you lost 5lbs!!!! That's great!!

"Only five pounds" hunny you just had major surgery it isnt gonna happen over night. I know its hard to be patient, and you want to start the losing game but it will happen. We didnt all the weight over night so it wont come off over night. Your swollen and your body is healing give it a few weeks before you start weighting yourself for realz. I am 13 weeks post op started at 322 and as of today i am 250 70+ lbs down and i didnt really start losing til week 3-5. Just relax rest and sip sip sip :)

Most people put on 10 pounds or more in the first few days after surgery because of IV fluids. If you've lost that plus five more, you're doing good! Congrats!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
