I'm so sorry you are going through this :( . Maybe for this situation it would help to see a therapist? In times of high stress you need to cut yourself a little slack. I wish i had something more to say to help you. Hang in there, this too shall pass.

Oh boy, this is hard! Life and relationship stuff is HARD. I am not smart enough to have words of wisdom, but know that we care and want all things in your life to improve. Try to stay away from the comfort of food -- the devil in disguise!

Hang in there. Not losing is not a bad thing. Don't let someone else control you.. Especially the NEW you! Don't let them win.. You're the winner!

Hi Rebecca,

I'm sorry you are having a rough time of it. I can't begin to understand all that you are going through, but I certainly can understand turning to food for comfort. I know you are feeling hopeless, but you're not. You have it in yourself to do what is best for you. Don't give anyone else that power over you. YOU owe it to yourself to forget about what you did yesterday and focus on what you can do today and tomorrow. You were strong enough to post about your struggles, and I know how hard that can be. You are strong enough to put you first and do what you need to for yourself. I hope things get better for you.

Be well.

I'm sorry you are going through this!

I think I would get pissed and take it all out on the treadmill or punching bag. Take this as a lesson you are doing this for you. I'd also want to lose all my weight and be like see what you are missing out on?!!!

Don't punish yourself with food that you know only helps at that moment. Afterwards it does nothing but make you feel bad. YOU ARE WORTH a new and healthy you!

Sorry Rebecca :( Maybe instead of focusing on him focus on yourself. There's someone out there for all of us and maybe he's not the one you're meant to be with. Just think how wonderful you'll feel when you've dropped this weight. Maybe look into some counseling. I've gone myself and it's very helpful. Good luck to you and remember you're worth taking care of!

Rebecca, Please just be kind to yourself. Take your understandable anger and focus it on working for you. Don't let it break you, fight back and stay firm to your goal of losing the weight and forging a new and better life for yourself. Thinking of you, Jane

As someone once told me - the greatest revenge is doing well for yourself. No one can take that from you. I know you are mourning food now, but he will be mourning the loss of you later. You are on the right path & time heals all wounds. Rejection is God's way of saying he's got something better. May be painful now, but may also be a blessing in disguise! Take it easy, do good for yourself! Maybe you need to focus on you for once. Someone who treats you like that doesn't deserve you anyways! Know that you are a good person and good things come to good people, even if a bumpy road leads to those great things - good luck!

Hugs! I'm sorry to hear about this. When I was starting my journey last year, I found out my hubby of 16 years was cheating too. This was the 2nd time that I know about. Well that was 2 times too many, so I finally had the courage to leave. Since then, I've filed for divorce, should be final in June, I've got a new and much better man and I've lost 82 pounds so far! I'm finally caring about myself and feel so much freer. It will be rough at first but it will get better.

God Bless!

Cheating husbands really suck! Just understand, it's the flaws in their character that make them cheat, not you. It is one of the things that led me down this path. The best revenge, is to thrive and be happy. It is a great feeling when you run into the other person and you look fabulous! Don't allow someone else's bad behavior define who you are. Be strong and believe in yourself! You can find a new "friend" to comfort you. I found music. Positive songs about strong women who overcame. You can do this! Put yourself first and you can find your way. You deserve someone who values you. We all do. Hang in there. This too shall pass. Hugs to you!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
