Hi all! I hope all is well with everybody. My name is Patrice and I'm 28. I had my gastric sleeve Feb 19, 2013. Let me give u alittle history bout myself. I had my first child June 2012. I gained over 100lbs with my daughter and I only lost 20lbs after having her. Before having my daughter I was about 180lbs at 5'7. So I was pretty happy with my weight and I worked out on a regular. So I made the decision to have the surgery. It was a hard decision for me. But I wanted to be healthy n happy again. My husband supported me and that's all that mattered to me. Now I'm 2 and hald months post surgery and I feel like I'm at a hault! I'm currently 253lbs and pre sugery I was 305lbs. I didn't have this surgery to just lose 50lbs. I working on my jorney and I need more support from ppl who understands what I'm going through. So I know I'm in the right place!

Hang in there. Sometimes it can be slow, but if you try tweaking your current ways it might work. If you're like me.. A slow loser, then you just stick with it, stay positive & go forward

From what I've read here, everybody has a stall or two or three. Just follow your program, fight head hunger, and... don't weigh yourself for a couple weeks!

I've been weighing myself literally everyday (just in a.m.) b/c I've been afraid that I'm going to miss out on something that I can quickly nip in the bud, so to speak. But, you know...I'm gonna go home tonight & put my scale up for two weeks. I'm gonna do it. Luckily, I'm not one of those that gets depressed by what I see on the scale, even if there is a stall. I just let my body do what it needs to do & give it my all. But anyway, to the person that made the original post, at times, it can be hard & discouraging. Stick to the plan & continue to give it your all. Let your body do what it needs to do. Everything will naturally fall in place as time goes on. We are all here for you. & we do understand how you feel.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
