Cheer Mama 166 Posted May 7, 2013 I am about to go to my rheumatologist to find a new med for inflammation and pain. I was just wondering if there was anyone else here fighting pain?
Dobeigh 69 Posted May 7, 2013 Me! I have an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis. My surgeon told me not to take my naproxen any more but I've been taking it anyway, along with my prilosec. I used to take it twice a day. Now, I just take it once a day. I also take Enbrel injections weekly. I have fibromyalgia too so I take neurontin and zanaflex for my muscle spasms. I wouldn't worry about it until after your surgery. I started taking my naproxen about a month after my surgery and it hasn't bothered me at all. I'd say the Coke Zero bothers my stomach more than the naproxen does. Depending on what kind of arthritis you have, there are a lot of options for pain control after having the vertical sleeve. 2 Cheer Mama and kckitty reacted to this
SassySenior 111 Posted May 7, 2013 GOOD TOPIC. I have bad osteoarthritis, knees and hip hurt the worst, although hands are bad also. Right now I'm taking 500 mg. Hydrocodone (Lortab) 2/day and 800 mg. Ibuprofen. What can I take after surgery? Help, please! I can barely take a step now, even with all the meds I take. COKE ZERO? NO, NO. No carbonation. It stretchers your stomach. Of all the things I have to give up, this is the worst. I'm a Diet Coke addict. I'm not sleeved yet, but I've cut down to 1 a day vs. 4. I use Cherry Pomegranate from Crystal Light. 2 kckitty and Cheer Mama reacted to this

Liking a post I made makes sp instant best friends! We get so little acknowledge or reactions, I gotta jump on your click as significant that I might have said something worthwhile! Yay - sometimes I feel like I'm talking to a wall. It's hard to imagine that my brilliant tidbits would not arouse anyone's interest. LOL p.s. Humility doesn't run in my family. I've heard that it stretches your stomach over and over but I've never seen any evidence of this. They cut the stretchy portion of your stomach off. The portion of your stomach that you are left with is not very stretchy (though it does stretch some). If anyone can show me an evidence based article about it stretching your stomach, show me. I don't feel like the Coke Zero has stretched my stomach. I still can't eat very much. 1 Cheer Mama reacted to this
