2 week liquid diet starts tomorrow.

Recommended Posts

Well tomorrow is my 2nd major step...I go see my NUT at 8:30am and start my 2 week liquid diet. I'm excited, nervous, and at the same time i keep thinking what am I doing? I have struggled with my weight for so long and i know this is the right thing for me, but of course I still have my doubts. The last few days i have been eating all my "favorite" foods, things that i want to avoid after surgery. Has anyone else done that? Starting my liquid diet just means my surgery is that much closer..which i'm kind of scared about. Never had surgery before. I do have to say I have some of the most supportive co-workers, 2 of them are doing their own versions of a liquid diet to help me out. I also downloaded My Fitness Pal on my I-phone, I would love to have some friends on there, you can find me on there under Hockeygirl1982@comcast.net.

Thanks for letting me rant! And here's to starting the first major step to the new me tomorrow!! :)

Congratulations and good luck! I have surgery on Wednesday and I have gone through the ups and downs the entire time. I keep questioning am I am doing the right thing and do I really need to go this extreme. Then I remember why I started all this to begin with and it makes it all the more worth it. I was not able to go through the eat all I can now and start the diet. I got the phone call one day and bam there it was. I figured that I guess this is the jump start I needed and here I am almost there. I am not going to lie, some days were harder then others, but keep the main goal in mind.... drink lots of Water and you will do just fine!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
