Help...weird port pain

Recommended Posts

I was banded in August 2006 and never really had any port pain. I had my 3rd fill last week and noticed a small amount of pain. But about two days ago, I PB'd pretty bad and ever since then, when I breathe or even move, I have moderate pain in the port area. Feels like a side-split or even a cramp, but comes and goes.

Should I be concerned?

I get the same thing. Feels like when you pull a muscle or something or like pulling out stictches. I have it quite often and I bet it's the same thing you are experiencing. If it keeps on or gets worse and it worries you I would just call my doctor. Hope it gets better for you soon.

Go and get it checked out for sure. I was experiencing the same pulling pain recently and a nagging minor pain when i sat down. Nothing excruciating, but I was aware of a dull pain. I went to get a fill under xray last week and surprise, surprise, my port has flipped totally the wrong way. The reason they needed to do it under xray for starters was because they couldn't find it while doing it blind - now we know why. Also, it was very painful when they were poking around there.

I now have to have surgery to correct it. Minor surgery, but a nuisance all the same. They are not sure why it decided to do this almost 3 years out from surgery.

Anyway, I am not saying this is what is happening to everyone who has pain in the port area. I am not a doctor so I cannot give medical advice. I can however, give you my experience and recommend you get anything checked out that bothers you for your own peace of mind.

Good luck with it all!! :biggrin1:

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
