Hey guys, I get what you did but I must say a lot of people here are complaining about the same thing and I really don't have the ability or the want to explain this to everyone.

But I've noticed that its having an effect on continuing the conversation on some threads.

And it's sneaky in the sense that it only happens on some threads not all! So it's harder to tell that something's going on and needs to be addressed.

My email notification has always been set, yet I don't receive any. I used to, but not for a few months now. Oh, and my surgeon info used to post and for a few months that refuses to save and post.

Heh.. Just more to note is all ;)

Hi all,

I understand that you may be frustrated - but we've outlined how to revert to the old settings. We'll look into a "one-click" method to set your settings to the immediate notifications - but that will be a ways out.

The "offline" method is not new functionality, it's be around for years. The thing is, our default notification settings were pretty aggressive. Notifying users about nearly everything that they may or may not want to know. This caused huge issues with members marking the e-mails as SPAM, which results in a very low deliverability rate for our service.

In relation to the number of members signed up here (nearly 60 thousand), we have gotten very few complaints. We wish we could avoid causing an inconvenience - but this was the only way to comply with the ever so strict rules of the e-mail industry. We've reduced our spam complaints dramatically and increased our deliverability to members by a very large amount since this change.

All in all - over the long run, the site wide change will benefit users, even the ones who like being notified of everything (since it can be enabled to do so, still) because we wont be put on e-mail blacklists now, which is what ISP's and other internet e-mail services were planning to do. This was the best way (and perhaps the only way) to prevent them from doing so, and allow you to receive e-mails from us.

The last e-mail you received from us was on or around January 22nd - due to marking e-mail we sent as SPAM. This will prevent your ISP from receiving any more e-mail from us.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
