I'm curious to see what he asks me. They told me to plan to be there about an hour. So even that won't be so bad. I'm just glad that his office and the hospital I'm going through are only 10 min. From where I live. I met a few people who traveled over an hour to go to the orientation for this hospital. That's gotta stink to have to drive so far for these appointments and weigh ins.

Good luck, I had my eval on Monday.......the woman was wonderful, specializes in pre/post WLS support..........we talked for an hour.....she was lovely, funny, down to earth, and honest....no matter what, be honest with her and your surgeon......because you'll only hurt yourself. We lost our teenager a few years ago, so she touched on that by asking "and how are you doing with that?"

I had been a nervous wreck about this appointment...........we went on vacation and came home the day before the appointment.........which was good for me, because I was too distracted having fun to think about it LOL Good luck, you'll do fine.

I had to go the the hospital twice for my psych. Th first time was to fill out the questionnaire, which was right around 700 questions. Nothing, but it took forever (2 1/2 hours) to fill in all the bubbles. Then I had to go back a few days later (so doctor could review my test results). On my second visit we talked about my test and talked about a lot of different topics pertaining to my life, surgery, and my support system. I was out of there in 30 minutes...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
