rosita13 10 Posted May 6, 2013 I am wondering do we have to crush every pill we need to take? How about a small allergy pill? It's smaller than an m&m- do I still need to crush it?
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted May 6, 2013 I am wondering do we have to crush every pill we need to take? How about a small allergy pill? It's smaller than an m&m- do I still need to crush it? Talk to your dr, early in healing phase (first 1-3 weeks) many prescriptions can be converted to liquid. For those that cannot, no, you don't have to crush "all" meds. Some medication absolutely should not be crushed because it is compounded to release a certain way from its whole state. I was able to take rather large Vitamins within 72hrs of surgery. lyndynojo 140 Posted May 6, 2013 One week out of surgery my dr gave me a big,ole honking antibiotic pill for a uti. He said it was ok to take it but I could literally feel it in my stomach but it didn't hurt, just felt really strange.
