So is anyone else finding hard to eat? I eat Breakfast and forget to eat. I drink lots of Water. I ate 2 times yesterday. I drink as much water as I can because I am thirsty. I am going on to puree foods. I had some red Beans yesterday. YUM. After that I was not interested in food. I do not drink the shakes but I need to. It is so hard to drink them sometimes. ijs

Any body in the New Orleans area? I would love to have someone in my area going through the same thing. I would like to know how you are dealing with life in the city of NO. I am so tired of people trying to feed me. I can't eat it, but thanks. The food smells so good but I do not want any of it. It is a hard adjustment to not eat at gatherings. That was the one think good about life here. Food. I feel like I almost have a food aversion. Nothing really taste good. So sick of bland foods. I did enjoy my red Beans yesterday. I am excited that I can eat some puree shrimp this week.

Anyone else have throat pain from the NG tube?

Minor, and didn't notice it from the dryness of being NPO for 24 hours. Mine was just a little soreness/rawness nothing major though.

I am brand new here. My surgery is scheduled for 6/25. In three days. I've been on skim milk diet for almost two weeks and they finally told me I could put Nestles no sugar added chocolate mix and it makes it so much more palatable..

All you can have is skim milk?

Have a popsicle question....do the popsicles melt b4 u finish them since u have to go slower' date=' or do u just let them melt and use a spoon?[/quote']

Hey! I'm day 4 and I love having Popsicles. I bought the sugar free kind from Walmart where you break them in half (2 sticks) I nibble them and I'm able to eat the whole thing before it melts.

Try making Protein Popsicles! I purchased nectar lemonade and strawberry kiwi. They make awesome Popsicles. For some reason I do better with Popsicles than drinking.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
