If it's carbonated, I don't want it.....I'm a soda addict and there's no side skirting the issue here......

I sit here and watch from the side line too. Have fun and hope you enjoy it.....

I'm not sure what an "ice drink" is? but ginger ale has carbonation in it.

How about we call it soda pop and then both east and west coasts are covered along with the heartland. :)

The "ice drink" she's referring to are these fruit-flavored carbonated drinks. Super yummy- I drank them pre-sleeve. They are sugar free.

For OP- some people do choose to drink soda pop after they are sleeved. I don't because whether or not it's bad, I choose to believe it's bad...haven't had that bit o' heaven in 4 months....

Actually, I don't think Iced drinks are so bad. Carbonation is on the light side. I had these once or twice post op only because they are SF and they looked appealing. It was many months ago, probably around month 1. This is just my experience. I have not had any since then but would probably have hem again if nothing else were readily available.

Unless you're from New England and over the age of 40, then it's called "tonic"

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
