Diane Brink 0 Posted December 11, 2006 Hi everyone! I was banded on December 1st, 2006 in TJ Mexico, Dr. Corvalis! OK, when I woke up from surgery I felt like I was kicked in the tummy by one or more mules! I needed a week to recover but maybe I took a little longer because I am 54, I don't know. I must say that for a large eater like myself I do not really feel hungry. I have moved from Clear liquids to Soups, no chewables.< /p> The people down there REALLY took care of me so I would recommend it. I have lost around 14 lbs. Today, Sunday, I took an excercise walk with my husband. I did not go as fast or as long as pre op but if I keep walking I have got to keep dropping weight! This is exciting. Oh yes, I sleep alot. Looking forward to being a part of this forum. Hugs, giantangel

juliegeraci 7 Posted December 11, 2006 Hi Giantangel, glad your surgery went okay. Sounds like you have the post op diet down which is very important. Congrats on your weight loss already. Remember that the first 6 weeks or so are the time to heal. Don't worry if you get a little hungrier. Chances are you will not though. That is the amazing thing about the lapband. Did you know when the new pouch or stomach is created there are sensors in your stomach which tell you you are not hungry. That is why with our new pouches we have less hunger. Its amazing. Good luck to you!
*susan* 1,709 Posted December 11, 2006 Hi and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on getting your band and making the decision to be a healthier person. I was one of those that took a while to recover from the surgery too. It was a good two weeks before I really started getting up and around well again.
