Stacey79 12 Posted May 5, 2013 I am having my surgery tomorrow and today I started my menstrual. It may be a silly question but will this hinder my operation at all?

Stacey79 12 Posted May 9, 2013 This is day 2 at home and it wasn't that bad at all. Still a little sore but up and walking outside for 30 min at a time. Doing good on my Fluid intake. So far so good. 1 newat52 reacted to this
JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted May 9, 2013 I am having my surgery tomorrow and today I started my menstrual. It may be a silly question but will this hinder my operation at all? I was concerned about this going into the hospital, so I asked. It won't interfere with surgery but, make sure to tell the nurse when you check in. They most likely will not let you use tampons if they plan on giving you a cathedar, but you never know. Best of luck to you tomorrow!
Khloé 89 Posted May 9, 2013 It won't interfere with your surgery at all. Worst case scenario is you go under anesthesia with the tampon in and wake up with it removed. The pain meds they'll give you after surgery will also basically eliminate any and all cramps you may get. Sucks if you get your period on surgery day, but at least the pain medicine helps out a lot. 1 Linkin reacted to this
Andi 78 Posted May 10, 2013 My period ended the day before my surgery. I had to call the hospital to find out what time they wanted me there for surgery. I asked them what they wanted me to do in case it was still going. They wanted me to wear a pad (and I didn't have a catheter).
