MsSarena 13 Posted May 5, 2013 With so many more pounds needing to be shed this is a bit discouraging! I was sleeved on Apr 23rd and in the first week lost about 18lbs. I felt tired but also like this is exactly what I needed to do. Then, I hit a brick wall. I went back to work on Wed last week and haven't lost a pound since my Thurs weigh in. I know I probably shouldn't weigh myself every day but the changes on the scale really make the day easier as I adjust and recover. So the last 4 weigh ins have been very depressing. I have heard of the dreaded 3 week stall but why so soon for me? Anyone else already gone through this? I am just hoping this doesn't mean that I am going to be slower to loose and easier to gain even post-op.
MIJourney 490 Posted May 5, 2013 Oh my word you lost 18 lbs in the first week??? I think that's wonderful! I'm guessing you're body is trying to adjust to that huge sudden drop.
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted May 6, 2013 I spend my first week losing my Water weight. At the start of week 2 I was back down to my surgery weight. I lost a crazy amount of weight during week 2.. something like 12 pounds making my total for the month of march 24 pounds... which included what I lost for the two weeks of preop. WOO HOOO... Then the next week.. nothing.. the week after that NOTHING.. and after that STILL NOTHING... For the entire month of april I lost a whopping THREE POUNDS!!!! Now in in the first week of may, I've already lost three pounds-the same amount that I lost during the entire month of April and I expect this to be a good month for me. I also expect other "bad" months in my future. Stalls are normal! Even stalls of several weeks are normal... so sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
