Are you able to keep your shakes down?

Oh and have you tried mio or other drops for your Water? The surface tension on the water can be hard to handle the first couple of months so breaking it up by adding just a little something helps.. Powerade zero is good too (berry flavor)

As far as soft food try a blend of meatloaf, gravy and watery instant potatoes.. And just take one small bite of your soft foods and let it sit. Don't try and take to much in at first

When you say belly button ripping apart.. Do you mean it feel like you pulled a muscle? Does it hurt when you move or twist?

I don't have any different recommendations for soft foods. I pretty much stuck to the basics, egg whites, Greek yogurt, LF cottage cheese. I did eat Fat free refried Beans with low fat cheese which tasted pretty good.

As for the belly button, miserable isn't it?! I had a complication and a second surgery that made a question mark around mine. The pressure from that was one of the worst things. Still bothers me from time to time. It helps to support the weight of your stomach with your hand when you move around or with a pillow when you are trying to sleep. They also make an abdominal brace that does that, but I couldn't find one that fit right. Best to you!

I threw up Water this morning.

I have a constant gag going on. Coughing gag without even drinking or eating.

Today my head hurts so bad!

Id go back a month ago and never have this done. Ever.

A lot of times at 3 to 4 weeks out there are pains in that area from the internal sutures healing/dissolving..

This might be what you are feeling, but I think it's always best to hear this from your surgeon. I would put in a call.

I'm wondering if you should ask the surgeon also about scoping you to make sure you don't have a stricture or maybe esophageal spasms because of gerd, acid reflux??

I agree with Lauren, a scope will either confirm or rule out a stricture. I have one, I can keep Water down but no food. I waited to get it checked out and now I'm miserable till they fix it. Talk to you dr.

Good luck!

I got some electrolytes... some reglan and something for nausea.

Today I'm feeling not so much better.

I feel like waking up with a hang over, head ache, gagging, puking... every morning!

My insides contract like they wanna vomit a lot.

Dr recommends liquid diet.

Again.

I feel hopeless.

Weak.

I hope by now you've phoned your doctor and/or you're feeling better. These symptoms you're describing are worrisome!

At least I had freedom before. Now I have nothing. Except bottle Water. S f popsicles, two teaspoons of yogurt!

Yay. 4 weeks and I feel like ****!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
