At 3 months I ate meatballs.... Would buy the premade ones from costco (they have a varity of different flavors) it was just easier to count the amount of protien. I ate chicken wings, my favorite are honey BBQ. I usually buy them from Costco... Very low cost considering I don't eat much. With the protien I would cut up tomatoe 1/4 cup and eat it with the protien. Avocado and tomatoe was another favorite. Cottage cheese is another low fat protien option. I also made Soups with meat and veggies. I still to this day can not eat bread without feeling like I swallowed a sponge.... So needless to say I stay away from bread. I can however, eat corn tortillas... So a small taco is a pleasant meal! Apricot glazed shrimp skewers! Mini Meat loaf muffins are good also! Hope this helps!

I'll have some chicken salad (low fat mayo) with just a little cranberry sauce on it. A meatball w/ a little spaghetti squash. deli wrap ups.. Roll some turkey and cheese. Or turkey and ham if you prefer. If others in the office are ordering out, I'll get a "sub" without the roll, and oil/vinegar on the side. It lasts a few meals. Or if it is Chinese food, I'll get steamed shrimp w/ veggies.

I'll wrap leftovers from dinner in 4oz. containers to bring in for lunch a lot.

Everything is high protein/ low fat/low carbs. I dont' feel I'm really limited.

Good luck!

Check out the muffin tin meal recipes. emilybites.com and thworldaccordingtoeggface.com I have gotten several ideas from them and I will make a batch or two a week. I love bringing them to work or eating at home...the portions are great! I make a manicotti-like one, a taco one, and also did meatloaf (not my fave). I have also tried some dessert ones too! ;-) Anyway, I absolutely love these and it's nice to eat something real just small!

I usually eat leftovers from dinner the night before. If not, a sandwich, yea I said it, A SANDWICH! haha wraps, I buy big containers of spring mix lettuce and make salads usually with olives, red bell pepper, tomatoes and top it with tuna, chicken, or lunch meat with balsalmic vinaigrette.

The chicken salad with cranberry sauce sounds delish! I'm going to try that!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
