LipstickLady 25,682 Posted June 5, 2013 The comment about Mexico is a rather low and unnecessary blow, don't you think? 10 Lorraine_2013, Rox, newlife27 and 7 others reacted to this
newat52 1,613 Posted June 5, 2013 I see you went to Mexico. Wow! Really?? Are you just having a bad day or did you mean to be so rude and judgmental? Just curious as to why. 4 Ms.AntiBand, newlife27, LipstickLady and 1 other reacted to this
Lorraine_2013 11 Posted June 5, 2013 People like that make this forum a not so nice site to come to. Clearly still miserable with herself. Ask your doctor and see what they say. Do what makes you happy!! In the end you are all that matters! Good luck 2 newlife27 and odetteNYC reacted to this

Do what makes you happy!! In the end you are all that matters! Good luck Amen. This place is nothing like it was when i joined last year. So many rude people. OP asked for feedback - not a sermon. Maybe she cant handle others kicking her off her soap box. And so what if she went to MX? Shes still alive i see. No complications from what I can tell. Not everyones insurance will pay the god awful price that US doctors charge. Some have to pay out of pocket. Guess what - most of what you use/wear/drive is probably made in China. So? 3 Lorraine_2013, odetteNYC and newlife27 reacted to this
deedadumble 1,033 Posted June 5, 2013 I see you went to Mexico. Most of the well-known bariatric surgeons in Mexico have done thousands more surgeries than those in the U.S. My guidelines say "No carbonated beverages or alcohol for 6 weeks." 1 AmandaRaeLeo reacted to this

SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted June 5, 2013 I see you went to Mexico. Not even sure how to respond to that.. Yes.. I did. i clearly put it in my signature but thank you for pointing it out for anyone who may not have noticed. Are you somehow implying that my doctor is incorrect because he was 3 miles south of the border? Doctors disagree on the carbonation issue.. Many doctors both in the USA and Mexico agree that carbonated beverages are not harmful to the sleeve.. Other doctors both in the USA and Mexico advise against carbonation for life. I fail to see what going to Mexico has to do with anything... unless you were using my doctor's geographic location in an attempt to discredit him simply because he harbors views that differ from YOUR doctor? 1 AmandaRaeLeo reacted to this
chinamama 104 Posted June 5, 2013 Actually I had my surgery here in the US and was told I could have sodas and use straws, not now but later. We had this discussion since I wanted a soda when my Fluid was taken out of my band, it had been 5 years!! Just remember everything in moderation....

jenny2013 2 Posted June 5, 2013 Yes I've had soda. It didn't cause any problems but it did make me feel very full for hours. It was like the bubbles just sat in there the rest of the day. Some people tolerate it very well though. My suggestion would be to just have a couple sips here and there' date=' for no other reason than to avoid the full feeling that may keep you from eating real food.< p>Oh - and good for you having the very nerve to ask a question that our die-hard forum members will consider a "rule breaking" behavior:) Get ready for all the preaching that will most likely follow your question. Just go ahead and read it all while having a taste of your favorite carbonated beverage.[/quote'] thank you
