poohbear1019 31 Posted May 5, 2013 Hi everyone !!! I'm seven weeks post op and have lost 53 lbs. since surgery. I'm happy with my decision. I am having a few issues and I'm wondering if anyone else is struggling with any of the same issues. I have been suffering with horrible Constipation and have developed hemoroids. Also, I have an uncomfortable burning sensation in my left shoulder blade?
Suko67 52 Posted May 5, 2013 Hi there: I am almost 3 weeks post-op and I get the pain in my left, upper chest near my left shoulder. I correlate this pain to when I get "too full." So I've been stopping eating before I get full--then within a few minutes--I do feel "full," but without being over-full and hence no shoulder pain.
poohbear1019 31 Posted May 5, 2013 Thanks for replying :-) the burning is pretty constant, even on a empty stomach. I'm hoping it will pass soon.
mistysj 1,940 Posted May 5, 2013 Left shoulder blade is referred pain from the vagus nerve, which gets irritated by a gall bladder attack. Drink lots of Water and use a heating pad or stand in the shower as hot as you can stand it. Talk to your doctor about it.

Not right? Correct? My mom had left shoulder pain when she had gallbladder attacks. Everyone is different but I have seen and known people to get chest pains and shoulder pains on the left. OP: I would just mention this to your doctor.

We're not usually not regular after surgery, and the longer your bowels stay in you, the drier and harder they become, forcing you to strain, thus causing hemorrhoids. poohbear1019 31 Posted May 5, 2013 Hey Suko67, That's correct, the burning is in my left shoulder blade. I saw a doctor covering for my regular doctor and he said that it's referred pain but doesn't know whats causing it. He said if it gets too bad, to go to the ER. It's not that bad. It just feels like a hot poker stuck in there.
