Looks like it might be a white Christmas in melbourne, lol, even though its the middle of summer. Its forecast 14 degrees celcius, that's cold even for winter! Crazy mad weather, this global warming thing is scary. There is actually some snow forecast in the high country!

I have a good friend in Melbourne. Just received her Christmas card. Water restrictions are playing havoc on her garden. I remember the Water restrictions when we lived in Victoria BC. Everyone is experiencing the global warming - east coast is having more rain than ever and my mom is in New Brunswick where Christmas usually has tons of snow and they too have green grass... sigh... I will really miss a white Christmas.

Hope to see you all thinner in the New Year. Good luck with your potlucks and family gatherings and Best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year filled with good health and love.

Well,

I will be with my husbands family for Christmas, which I find stressful... I have to be really perfect... or so Ithink.

As well, I just had news that my brother in law will be there to, for part of the time. Now you have to understand that he really hates me and makes it know. This summer he came to see us so we could talk about this issue (I have been married to my awesome guy for 16 years). I took the high road (it is important to my husband), but this jerk told me I was cold, controlling and harsh. Yeah I am feeling the love!!!!!!

So... it is going to be a hard one for me. I know it is his problem and that he is just sad and lonely and can't handle an assertive woman, but it will be tough.

Wish me the best of luck and to stay in control- my anger will just reward his stupidity.

Merry Christmas to you all!!!!!!!!

Dawn

I bet he is secrely in love with you. You know what they say "there is a thin line between love and hate! "

So when he is being ignorant, giggle to yourself, thinking that he really wants you!!!

Have fun with it!!!!

(or whisper to him that you know how MUCH he wants you, but you're married to his brother, so to please drop the act! :omg: )

Oh Argon that is just so sweet! That's the kind of advice I would have given Dawn - whisper softly though just to tick him off a bit more - better yet make sure you've eaten some garlic just before getting that close to him.... ahhhh sweet revenge!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
