Where will YOU be on Xmas Day?

Recommended Posts

I do love our holiday! It is just the 3 - myself, husband and 25 yr old daughter. She comes over Christmas eve and we drive around and look at lights- been doing that since she was a baby- and we have some interesting conversations. She spends the night and in the morning we open presents, play with toys, watch movies all day and have a good dinner. Very restful very peaceful.

Christmas Eve at the in-laws and Christmas Day with a friend. Nothing else as far as I know.

We're spending Christmas day at home so the kids can enjoy opening gifts from Santa (and I don't have to lug them to Grandma's and back!). Mother in Law dear hasn't seen me since I started this journey and if the reaction of co-workers is any indication boxing day could prove to be quite interesting. We drive to the south shore near Valleyfield (QC) and my in-laws live on a large farm (hobby one now) - they know how to throw on the food and beverage. The challenge will be how to politely say I don't have room for any more without Pbing.....

I have a Doctors appt upon return to work in January so I'm hoping to impress him with even more weight loss - we'll see.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas no matter whether it's with family or celebrating quietly. Enjoy the rest too (or if you're traveling try to catch up on some favorite activity).

Valleyfield, that's about 30 mins from where I live. My uncle lived in Valleyfield, his son, my cousin was murdered in Valleyfield probably 20 years ago. Was very sad... he was my parent's godchild. What a small world.

Yoda,

Where is home & how close to Ottawa does you're sister live? We're

in Kingston at the present time, but originally from "The Ottawa Valley".

This anywhere near you?

Kate.

Wheezy,

What a small world! Where do you live? I love the area - they live closer to Ormstown and the apple orchards. I love watching the sheep in the field across the Chatequay "creek" - it cuts through their property.

I was hoping they got lots of snow for the kids - but my mom-in law says its all melted and now just muddy (I'll have to bring boots and extra clothes for them so they can play) They just had a new well dug this fall so at least Water won't be an issue.

Hope you have a great Christmas and see ya thinner in the new year.

I've lived all over Canada; I now live near Barrie. I did all my high school years in Ottawa though. My sister lives in the Metcalfe area (the town, not the street).

I live in a little town near the Quebec Ontario border. Everything is green here. Some people were playing golf last week and it went up to 12 degrees today. The weather is really weird.

No kidding.....Angel Bear and I live in the same area (smack in the middle of Ontario's "snow belt") and we have noooooo snow right now!! AND, it went up to +10 today. Yesterday, I saw eight different motorcycles on the road....UNHEARD of in these parts past the end of October let alone near the latter part of December!!!!

Love it though.....doesn't bother me one iota if we have a green Xmas. I"m trying not to get too complacent though; as I KNOW old man winter will hit us soon enough!!

Ohhhh, I know I'm gonna get hit here but....

I LOVE THE SNOW!!!

I just love the seasons. By the end of winter, then I want the hot summer, but I love the changes. Then again I live on a farm, so I'm up to my eyeballs with mud, yuck!!

But alas, burning my butt in Mexico sounds devine!!

:) 4:smokin: . sorry.

I like a little fluffy stuff now and then but the kids are dying for snow! I know we'll get it soon enough. Hopefully not before we travel to QC to visit the grandparents. I hate driving in the stuff (especially slush!)

Hope everyone is having a great week!
