I'm very curious to know how many calories per day everyone is consuming. I'm taking in 1200 to 1300 a day and gaining weight and or at a major stall, at 7 months out.

I take in between 900 to 1200 a day. I vary it daily. I'm 8 months out and that happened to me. I started exercising more and finally broke the stall!

I'm about 5 months and try to stay 900-1000, but sometimes a little less, sometimes more. I try to never go over 1200, but I have a couple of times. I don't think I lose any faster eating 600-800.

I believe exercise does make a difference. I also am hearing things about sleeve patients and our basal metabolic rates. I was recently told that if I want to boost my weight loss I need to take in a lot more Protein. I think somewhere around 160 a day. I was also told I could check my BMR at every appointment with my surgeon or NUT. It has a lot to do with muscle loss. I just posted a question regarding protein and BMR today. So far I have been averaging 600-700 calories a day. I have lost 70 lbs overall and 60+ of that total is after surgery(2/5/13). I honestly have not had much time to dedicate to exercise because I work 2 jobs. I am planning to change that as soon as possible though. I think my weight loss has been great and I am happy with it but i will investigate any chance I have to safely boost the weight loss even more. Good luck to you!

My NUT told me to stop counting calories but I feel like I'm eating around 600-900 cals now. She told me to measure my food. She recommends I eat 1/2-3/4 cup of food per meal, 3 times a day. I also get to eat 2 Snacks a day and that can only be about 1/4 cup of food twice a day. It's been hard especially with the head hunger but I've been sticking to her plan and I've lost about 6 pounds this past week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
