Illness prior to surgery?

Anyone get a bad illness prior to surgery? Was your surgery delayed due to it? I now have pneumonia, on antibiotics for seven days. Surgery date is may 28. Should no be concerned? Please give me input. Thanks so much. Of course I tried calling my surgeon, but this all just happened late yesterday and the office was already closed:(

It will probably depend on how fast you recover. Your surgeon will make the call but I'm guessing he will want you fully recovered for at least a couple weeks. It will be much harder to recover from surgery if your body is trying to recover from illness at the same time.

I think you should consider postponing surgery. You want your body to be healthy as can be before putting it through surgery. I hope you feel better soon - good luck. I had a health issue in March and my surgeon said he would not operate because the immune system is taxed enough trying to deal with the current issue, let alone trying to heal from surgery.
