What are good exercises at home? I have two small kids and husband on the rail most of time so going to gym will be really hard. I have a stationary bike, and step videos. However next to impossible to do with kids around bc well they are needy and every time I try to do they get in way or cry etc.. So was trying to get ideas for things could do with kids around ? I ran in place and did jumping jacks, crunches etc.. But have a kid either trying to sit on stomach while did or hold onto leg.. Any ideas for things to do with or quick so can get in little bit thru day?

A couple of things. Resistance bands are good and inexpensive and are a good way to get some flexibility and strength. Gallon milk jugs make great dumbells and is something that just about everybody has. Gallon cans of paint work good too. Throw the kids in a stroller or wagon and walk (don't have to run). Jump rope. Use the kids a dumbells or kettlebells (I've done this when mine where little). They have fun and you get exercise. Take them to the park, and you climb the monkey bars with them. Have fun!

I use an exercise ball and I bought small ones for my kids, so they can try and do it right along with me. It's fun and love working out with mommy.

Not sure ages of your kids but focus more on just getting moving than a structured work out plan since you say your really out of shape..have activity hour where you and your kids dance, toss a ball, hop scotch any type of movement not only will it get you moving but get some kid energy out and be fun. Also do you have a ymca maybe swimming with them

The Ymca also has a nursery and sets the payment based on income if you ask about the assistance program (if you need it)...good luck

I am a mother to four kids, ages 10, 8, 3 and 2. The older ones, not much of a problem; the younger ones, exactly what you describe! To get a quality workout in, I have to work out when they are sleeping. My kids bed time is 8:30, so I'll end up working out at about 9 or 9:30. Morning workouts are at about 4:30/5:00 AM on work days, or 7 AM on weekends ( they wake up early!). Other ways are just being active with them: putting on music and dancing with them (I try to "jump" dance, burns more calories), chase them around the yard, play games that require some light jogging, jump on the trampoline. Teach them to be active with you for a healthier active family.

If you have a wii can do the just dance games they have workout plans on there give them both a remote and let them play with you. That way you get your workout in and they have fun playing.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
